Merry christmas everyone!
Im dying to buy a new decatted U/P and D/P from Scoobysport for my MY01 PPP. But there has been talk of a magic black box that prevents the dreaded Check Engine warning light from appearing. Xmas pressie money in hand, i want to do some spending!!!!!!
7 months since it was first mentioned - has anyone got one and if not do you think they will ever appear???????
Does anyone else sell the box yet?????

Jza,
They do exist, and ScoobySport now have stock.
It's a custom unit designed for this job.

Hi ...
I am trying to get these O2-fixes ( and other) parts since 2 and 1/2 months from Scoobysport for a lot of german Impreza drivers, but Scoobysport seems to be dead. :-(
Does anyone know what's wrong with Scoobysport?
Regards
Frank
PS: Pete?

Dave,
Do you get commission from Pete m8??
If you remove *all* the cats and have a completely straight through system, do you still need the gizmo? I thought that if you go straight through Turbo back, the cat in the header/up-pipe causes the sensors the issue?
Yours confussed ( ),

Give it time! Mine has had ECU changed (to fix problem) and light stayed off for a while but came on yesterday again. Still looking on bright side, light in dash gives it a bit of festive cheer NOT!

It normally sets the CEL off on a constant load light throttle setting - i.e. cruising at a constant speed on a motorway or similar. As said, give it time, it will come on!

Jza,
I've had mine on the car for about ten days now and still no check engine light !
Having been waiting since August and being lucky enough to be at SS when Pete got his first shipment in I was able to get my sweaty paws on it.
It's fairly simple to install but does require cutting two wires into the ECU... so take a deep breath and BE CAREFULL. If you're not sure what you're doing ... get someone else to do it for you.
Don't worry they are coming as soon as he can make them...
Cheers ... Andy
Edited coz i missed out and important "no" !

when you say "still check engine light" do you mean not come on since or still on after fitting SS device.
When you say about cutting wires you are making me very nervous, as I thought it was just a replacment sensor.

One other thing Andy, when it comes to selling car is it easy to put back to standard if wires are cut with out it looking like a botch job. Also I have ppp ecu is this still ok with mod.

Tezza,
Sorry but i can't type at the best of times. I did mean "no check light" and i've edited my post to reflect this.
The widget works by altering the signals going into the ECU. I assume this would work with the PPP as well as they should have the same basic functions (PPP is presumeably just a more agressive map than the standard one).
I've installed it so that i can remove it simply and quickly (in case it goes wrong/i sell the car/ etc) by disconnecting the device via spade connectors)
I can send you the wiring instructions + Photos that i sent Pete if you let me know your email address.

Just out of curiosity ... how is this black box actually working ?
The CEL comes on after you remove the cats ... that's because the ECU is seeing higher CO % values than expected, right ?
So would this device change the lambda signals to the ECU in some way ?

Fitted mine yesterday, had the ECU reset and away we go - so far so good - I've only been waiting 10months! and Yes I agree with Andy - my plugs were slightly different to Pete's diagram but all the positions / colours matched up..TAKE CARE.. IF IN DOUBT GET SOMEONE THAT IS QUALIFIED TO HELP.
