Full exhaust system for the latest Sti
#1
Hi guys,
I just wanted to ask you some infos about the new STI exhaust system: i heard that you cannot gain that much of horse power changing the whole exhaust system : that's because of the two lambda sondas placed one at the beginning and one at the end of the exhaust system...
what do you think about it ?
I guess there must be a way to f**k the cats and gain power on a car of that kind...
the gain should be very big if it would be possible.
cheers
Francesco

We have seen some substantial gains with our 3" fully decatted system. (over 35BHP and similar torque increases).
Removal of the cats will trigger a fault code in the ECU but the effect is more annoying than restrictive.
A couple of companies (ourselves included) have now worked out how to prevent the triggering of the check engine light.
Mike.
