Default Clutch fitting advice

Couple of questions about fitting the pull clutch? I bought a engine and box seperate for a project I am building and it came minus a clutch

Regards the clutch disc. The clutch disc has the splined centre to take the input shaft. There is more splining on one side of the disc to the other.

Which side of the clutch disc goes to the release bearing and which to the flywheel side.

Do you have to engage the release bearing into the clutch some how

Have put the clutch on but something does not seen right so am asking to see if I have missed something in the process

!
The friction plate tells you which sid eit to where. It is all stamped in the centre around the boss.
The spline is the same right through the boss!

The cover plate has an intricate 'spring clip' which clips into the diaphame spring and is ready to accept the thrust bearing once you have offered the gearbox to the engine or vica versa.

The thrust bearing is pre mounted into the gearbox prior to re-installation.
One the box/engine are mated, a good shove on the clutch release arm clips the thrust to the cover and you are done.

If you put the friction plate on the wrong way round I think the cover will not install onto the flywheel.

Good luck!
Graham.

Got it installed thanks Graham though I think I may still need the engage the thrust bearing to coverplate, as when I look down through the hole for the clutch lever arm the part of the release bearing I can see looks to close the the internal gearbox casing. I assume the clutch arm needs a push towards the slave to push the release bearing in the opposite direction into the coverplate

LOL!
Easy to do when you are used to 'normal' clutches.
