Question

OK,
as you now all know (bored to death probably ) the car is decatted, thanks to nice new BPM downpipe (cheers Lou)

I've reset the ECU (I think!) am running on optimax, but no pops, bangs or flames, well, none that i can hear/see (but not looking behind for flames, to dangerous)

so, any ideas why? guessing that the bulge in the center pipe is a resonator and that might be the party pooper, could that be the case?

not too worried as it does seem a lot quicker to pick up revs, but a few pops n bangs might be nice.

oh, system is Apex N1 center and backbox.

have tried that, at various speeds, in other words floor it, then let off, no pops or bangs, well, there might be but I can't hear them.

Mark, you need to get the exhaust really hot before you get any flames. You should be getting some pops, when lifting off. I get loads when coming off the motorway, dropping a couple of gears normally helps.

marcus,

have you got a (dta) dump valve fitted ? if not try fitting one and you should definetly get pops and bangs when lifting off (but as danny says, the exhaust should ideally be hot ) .

Markus,

Mine doesn't either!

I just think it's running a little lean?

No it is probably not running so rich that you would get pops/bangs and so it producing optimum power so stop complaining

Cool

My full scoobysport system used to make all the right noises on let-off, I was convinced flames were being chucked out when the bangs were going on so I did the only sensible thing a grown man (almost )can do..got the wife to drive behind me and check for flames... but she saw none

So even though it sounds like its chucking em out its probably not.

The Hiper system I got now is even worse for the pops, and they are much deeper in note. But once was enough for the wife and she's not interested in anymore flame spotting driving behind me

It can't be good for things though having fire ***** coming out the exit hole
Blimey that curry was hot the other weekend

Try driving down a hill in third and letting off the gas, that when mine goes crazy.

John
