My MY00 is erratic on tickover, hunts between 750rpm and 250rpm and stalls frequently at traffic lights.

There are no problems with the drive of the engine, just fed up of looking a fool, stalling at traffic lights and novas leaving me standing!!

i have cleaned the tickover valve, sometimes there are no problems but others it just dies or nearly stalls then revs.

any ideas lads?

 

Take it to a dealer if it's a UK car and let them worry about it . If it's an import try the search facility (if you haven't already).

 

My MY97WRX has had a problem for sometime with the tick over creeping higher and higher at the end of long trips. Connecting the black connectors under the dashboard when trying to clean the boost solenoid gave me an error code of 24 Idle Air Control Valve. The car is going to be sorted tomorrow. I'll ask when I get there if it causes low tickover when faulty.
