Engine Warning light came on...what do I do!

Taking it steady this afternoon my Engine Warning Light came on..
(MY00) No loss of power or any noticable effects however.. Turned the engine off for 5 seconds and started it back up, no problem.
Standard engine-wise apart from S/S downpipe and Hiper exhaust system.
Can anyone shed any light on the possible cause of this, do I need to worry? Does the ECU record problems so the dealer can pull off what happened?
