MY02 Prodrive WR Silencer
#1
MY02 is due for 1000 miles service and I am considering having the Prodrive WR Silencer fitted. There is a dyno plot for Andy Hamiltons MY01 which shows an increase of around 20bhp at the flywheel, does anyone have figures for standard MY02 at flywheel, is it the figure advertised by Subaru or is this at the wheels? Also does a MY02 with all the cats removed still meet emission requirements ?

I have Andy Hamiltons WR sport back box. Literally, I bought it off him when he up-graded to PPP. It gave my MY01 an extra 5 bhp on the rolling road over standard. So I wouldn't read too much into that result. It does however make the car sound like a proper Impreza. I haven't found anyone yet who doesn't like the noise.
As far as decatting the MY01/02 there are 3 cats, mid, down and turbo link pipe (up-pipe). As far as I know removing all three will cause it to fail an emissions test. Barring getting stopped at a roadside emissions test the first you will need is on the MOT which is at least 3 years away. The performance advantage though is significant and a fully decatted MY01 should clock around 250bhp.
Cheers

Good choice, you won't regret it.
If you fancy a full decat this link may be of use.
