MY01 STI Boost Routine

MY01 STI RA 12000kms. Standard turbo, cat in the downpipe etc (no engine or exhaust mods), standard STI ECU.
Anyone has any experience on the ECU boost control routines in the new STI engine? My old GC8 used to boost to 0.9-0.95bar constantly, regardless of gear/speed etc.
With this car, if I do a gear 1-2-3 pull, it will "overboost" slightly to 1.25bar in 1st gear and then settling back to about 1.05bar, the peaks in 2nd & 3rd gears are slightly lower at perhaps 1.2bar and it settles back again to 1.05bar.
However, if I'm cruising on the highway in 4th and then give it max throttle, the boost will build slowly and peak at 1.35-1.4bar!! Don't know if it will fall back to 1.05bar as I quickly came off the accelerator. Tried it 3 times with same results, guess the next time I try I shall look for more road space and keep the pedal nailed till the boost comes back down (if it does).
