Hi guys. I was just driving home from work at a reasonable pace ;-) and had been for probably 5 or ten minutes when i went for 5th gear and just could not physically get it in.
I dont shift without the clutch or anything, or grind the gears. Any idea wheat the problem could be and how i could fix it? The car is a turbo 2000 on a V plate. 76K on the clock.
Cheers Marco

same happened to me on my same car w reg same miles.. fith gear nut gose loose a very very common fault, mine loked out of fith but got home and lost all gears, gear lever would not move because syncro hub and sleeve had locked up du to heat and friction of the syncro hub moving back and forth due to the slack nut..striped it down replaced hub assembaly £300 for part alone. u can just tighten nut if caught early enough by stripping just back end of box and not dropping the whole thing like i had to.
also on motor way i noticed lever would go forward and back along way when throttle pressed and relesed and would pop out of gear on very light throttle but only in fith though due to the problem

Me too
but had to change both the 5th gear wheels and the selector fork, about £700 in total including labour to get the box rebuilt.
Me too
