Default Autobox question

Its a long shot, but hopefully somewhere out there theres an answer to my question...

does anyone know if the 4eat autobox from a 1997 impreza gl is the same as that from a 1995 JDM WRX ( auto ) wagon ?

if its not "exactly" the same ...

1/ can it be used as a complete replacement unit
( possibly with matched rear diff due to different UK gearing ? )

2/ are the torque convertors the same ?
( both in terms of physical interchangeability & stall speed )

3/ are the "valve bodys" interchangeable ?
( considering having "spare" one modified & swapping to avoid down time )

please stop laughing in the back, no a manual swap isnt an option.........
