I fitted a complete exhaust system on a friends MY01 and now he gets a check engine warning all of the time. How can I suppress that?

Thanks for any help

If its a Scoobysport System

I believe they are doing a little black box to cure that

How much does it cost and where can I get it?

Thanks a lot
ric

PS Hope they will sell it to me, backbox is Scoobysport, but the rest of the system is Supersprint as it is much cheaper here in Switzerland. (although the Scoobysport downpipe is much better....)

Hi Ric

Sorry, network bugged out yesterday....a bit busy

I need to call Pete about my backbox anyway (Pete - how hard is it to buy stuff from you?!), so will talk to him about the 'black-box' my01 solution.

It doesn't matter what exhaust you've got, any decat exhaust is likely to make this happen. It's because the Lambda sensor behind the last Cat detects the Cat's not working ('cos it's not there ) and tells the ECU.

The "Black Box" from Scoobysport fools the ECU into thinking that there is a Cat there. This has no effect on fueling as that's taken from the other Lambda sensor in the headers.....

And Scoobysport only supply theirs with their decat systems - not as a separate item....yet.
