Question Clutch servicing?

Hi, I just wondered whether there is anything reasonably straightforward I can do to improve the performance of my clutch? It seems to be slipping a bit and gets quite smelly. Do I need to add fluid? As part of a bigger task can I buy a servicing kit and strip it down and rebuild? Will I ultimately need a replacement or can I rebuild myself? It's meant to be a daily driver and would prefer not to have it off the roads for more than a weekend.
It's a standard 98 impreza wagon (not sure if UK or JDM). Don't know if it will help but I don't THINK there is a clutch fluid inlet under the bonnet.
Thanks!
