"Snappy" clutch

"Snappy" clutch
Ive had my bugeye wrx for about 8 months but have noticed recently that the clutch seems pretty snappy/snatchy.
Hard to describe but i always feel astho i need to slip the clutch carefully to stop it snapping and then kangarooing when im pulling off. Resulting in me having to pick up the revs before i pull off too.
Almost asthough the clutch is engaging which is lowering the revs but isnt giving drive straight away.
The travel seems normal and its only noticable when pulling off and sometimes going into 2nd, the rest are very smooth. All this happens in half a second so is generally not a problem but its starting to **** me off as its spoiling the whole experience.
Ive been fortunate enough to never have a clutch too far on its way out but i thought the position of the bite would get high or low before it got awkward to drive.
Does this sound like a knackered clutch?

thats exactly what im on about, juddering, im in the same boat too, i tend to only drive my scooby when im starting after 7am, dont think my neighbours are impressed when i have used it early as i park it in the garage since i had a paint stripper attack of jealousy (or annoyance) so its even worse when i start it at 5am and it echoes through the garage :S
I wonder if theres anything else that causes it or its just how it is?

Not sure, i've only had mine a month now. It does it when pulling away at lights etc, i have the stereo fairly loud otherwise the exhaust overpowers it and i'm always making it judder due to not hearing the revs, used to driving a classic wagon for the past year and never had this issue so sometimes forget to give it a little pulling away.

ive got a nasty old corsa that i drive to and from work a lot to save money and im sad to say the clutch on that is smoother than the subaru. Maybe its just that i need to drive it more often, sounds like a good excuse!

I had a similar problem, when on low revs the car would judder i have an Excedy stage 1 clutch and lightened flywheel.
All i did was adjust my driving position (move the seat forward slightly) to get a better control over the clutch and then just increased the revs very slightly, seemed to do the trick.
Takes a few days to get used to the driving position and im fine now, no juddering or having to push the clutch back in.
