Hi All
Just wondered if anyone knows about the various gearboxes (especially for classics
) and there strengths?
I.e i have a classic wrx 1996 V2 (made 1995 released 1996 to celebrate subaru FIA rally). gearbox: TY752VB4AA chassis : GC8C48D
now i have a 5th gear syncro issue.
What choices do i have to get a replacement gearbox? Obviously the most asked question on here is which gearbox is classed as being stronger?
I'm currently having a scoobychip put in by major_sarcasm
& will be running suitable mods to aid the chip like K&N panel, sports cat & fujitsubo system. So hoping for 280/300 area. Afaik this power is pushing a standard wrx box?
So does anyone have like a list of optional gearboxes to fit straight in which would be better? is there such a thing?
I do not want to just get the current box fixed as the car has been used & i'd say quite abused by previous owner, so would like a good replacement box & keep the old gearbox, possibly taking apart & fixing & keeping as a spare for a later date.
Thanks
