Question

This has probably been covered before but the search is down. Can i put a MY96 ECU (260Ps) in a MY93 WRX (240 Ps). At present my ECU won't talk to the select monitor (very long story covered a month or so back) and as such i am thinking of gettin a replacement ECU (bout £100 i've been quoted). Its the same price for a MY96 as MY93 so should i go for the MY96 and get what appears to be a bit extra power. How is this power achieved tho, is it just a matter of a better ECU map or have other things on the car been changed? If they have i guess i can't safely put the later ECU in .

Anyone know the answer for sure?

Cheers,

Tony.
