My dyno results (pics)
#1
Finally was able to get the MY02 WRX dyno and tuned this weekend.
Here is the results from a Mustang AWD roller dyno.
222AWHP
230Ft. Lb. Torque
Max boost @ 15.5PSI(or roughly 1.1bar) taper to 12psi(.8 bar) @ 7000rpm.
Air/fuel ratio: 10.4 @ 6500rpm
Not to bad for a few basic performance upgrade.
Samco IC hose, Uppipe,3" Turbo-back exhaust, Unichip(Cobb Tuned)
I also have another dyno graph showing results before the turbo-back and unichip installed.
-Cheers

Dazz1,
I think S.A.M's point, is that in Europe, circa 220bhp ATW's is a pretty high figure, and the only cars getting near it, are having to run higher than 15psi.
If you look at the dyno.scoobynet page (linked at top of page) you'll see what we mean.
I've seen some of the quoted ATW's figures on i-club, and we don't get anywhere near them, even running far more boost. I, discussed this with a respected US tuner, and we both suspect that there is a disparity between the UK, and the US dyno software.
Nothing else makes any sense, since the cars run very similar mod's, and there's only so much one can do with a Unichip, or other ecu.
You guys are regularly seeing 250bhp ATW's +,from little boost, and some are now exceeding 300bhp ATW's, a figure that no one on this bbs has come anywhere near. Unless there are a few people keeping secrets out there
Mark.

Is it me or is 230lbs of torque rather low??
Sorry to say this but i think your 222@wheels is a bit of a fib.
Most uk cars will push 230bhp and 220+lbs of torque, a slightly modified uk car will push 249bhp and 238lbs of torque so i think that you measure your power differently to us (thats running 15psi and settling to 13psi).
Me thinks that you Americans have to have bigger Power@wheels to make it look good
Tony

Dazz1,
Sorry, my comments weren't a slur on your figures, they are consistant with similarly mod'd cars in the US, and I certainly wouldn't question Treys abilities

Mark's right, I'm a wee bit puzzled by the consistently high-ish US power quotes...
I'm estimating ~220 whp in my car...and that is a euro MY00 turbo (218 hp stock) - which is running a wee bit more than 15 psi's - on a bigger turbo - AND with a proper IC. (I'll get it on a dyno any day now...)
It's nothing personal mate, I'm just amazed at the 300+ whp cars from overseas.

Mark,
You're correct. Different dyno and software will results in slightly different readings.
Given that, I'm still please with the performance gains. The first driving impression I got from the car is that it drifts like mad out of sharp tight corners. Oversteer is no problem with the low to mid end torque gain.:-)
I'll post the 0-60 and 1/4mile times shortly once I get a chances to hit the local track for comparison.
Thanks for all the feedback.
