MY99 MAF Failure...and then mended!!!
#1
Oh dear, should have listened to the people that know best (Scoobynet).
Have had a Pipercross (oiled) induction kit on for about 10 months now, left work the other night and idle problems!
Went to Halfords at w-end and bought Wynns carb and Inj cleaner...fingers crossed, took out MAF and gave it liberal amount of said spray...hoorah, all is how it should be
I think, perhaps, the ram cold air feed may have given it a bit of extra "push" on the air filter.
I am now looking at an alternative but have got to find something that will fit with the Pace intercooler pipework (?)
Oh well, I will take that as a warning.
Cheers all, MD.
PS Dont forget 5th Gear tonight...its got Scoobs.

Maybe worth checking at a dealer it is definitely OK. I had the same thing - idle problems which went away, but the MAF was still shagged, it just didn't manifest itself by idle problems.
