Question

My car makes a rattling noise when you let off around 4-5k revs, I'm pretty sure it's coming from the heat shield.

How do I get the thing off to check it? How can it be fixed? The car's no longer under warranty so I'll have a go myself.

Thanks

Richard

The trouble is finding which one is causing the problems. The one next to the sump / oil filter is fairly common. It tends to crack around one of the three lower mounting points. Putting a big washer between the nut and shield seems to work OK. Good luck.

Mine were rattling, but i just ignored them.. I have now taken them off to port them along with other stuff... the bolts werent going to come out so I just welded up the heatshield to them.. Ill worry about it later if it does break again... you can just see the shield on the right from these other pictures...
