Default Can a 6 speed STI flywheel be skimmed..

I have had a couple of prices to replace the clutch on a my02 STI both are aound the same price apart from one of the quotes say i need to skim the standard flywheel and the other says the oem flywheel cant be skimmed?

Is it worth swapping the oem flywheel for a lightened unit?

What is the weight difference and would you notice a couple of kilos difference?

I believe this is a job that needs doing properly first time as its not an easy job to rectify, all advise would be appreciated.

Regards.....

yes it can be skimmed but depends on how bad a lip it has,
so it may be best to get a lighented flywheel

when i changed my clutch i just got a forged lightend flywheel and exedy pink clutch from aztec performance for around 500 ish
