Car : UK MY00 turbo, optimax, 802 ecu
Mods : Scoobysport backbox

Before and after power runs done within 30 mins of each other.

Before : 237bhp @6573, 229lbs/ft

Now I was pretty happy with that, but while I was there I was persuaded (didn't take much ) to go for the Tek 1 ecu upgrade (£150+vat).

After : 255bhp @6686, 228lbs/ft

The peak torque is similar, but the dyno graph shows a 5-15lbs/ft increase from about 3900rpm onwards. Taking the car for a test drive afterwards there was an immediately noticable difference, the car pulling harder, feeling more eager. Needless to say I'm as happy as a pig in sh*t! .

Thanks to mega_stream for starting the ball rolling on this one and Chris for organising it, it was good to meet everyone. Thanks also to Mervyn and Chris, the Power Engineering boys.

Thumbs up

Good increase, but not where you need it, below 3000 rpm.

What you need now is a Dawes and a DP.....

That should get you around the same max power but about 250lbs of torque at 3000 rpm.

I agree Lambo, but for 150 quid you can't argue with the results . Full decat will probably be the next mod, it will be interesting to see what difference that makes to the torque.

And possibly Tek2 after that mutant_matt! ,Power Engineering told me that it would bring the torque up nicely.

It all depends on how much money you want to spend ( waste ? ) on your car, whilst a Tek 2/3 is fantastic, a Dawes is also fantastic ( and using sensible boost i.e 16psi or less then I gather its perfectly safe ) and its only 50 quid.

More power, its a slippery slope, Tek3, PE manifold, new turbo, blown engine.... and you sell your car for less at the end of it all.

Oh I intend to waste a lot more money be in no doubt of that!

I'm am thinking about the Dawes device, there were some guys (SteveTerzo and Chris_D I think) running them on the RR day who got good results.

Your right, it is a slippery slope, and I'm rapidly gathering speed!
