What car, model year, turbo, intercooler, engine management, any other relevant information please - e.g Water injection, major breathing mods etc. If you have boost threshold info - eg. when you reach 1 bar/14.5 PSI that would be nice too.
I know boost is not the be all and end all - airflow, fuelling and timing need to be considered amongst other factors, just curious as the vast majority of the rolling road plots on the dyno site do not have boost plots.
It would be nice to have some TD05, VF23, VF24 examples - modded or unmodded. Plots would be lovely.
Thanks, just trying to get a real world comparison between turbos.

John
Emailed you my dyno run complete with boost plot. Plots from the other cars run that day can be found on MLR.
One was a BRD with Link, FMIC and VF22. One had a VF28. Mine as you know is the 'poor brother' TD05![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Of interest was the way the EVO7 spools the later generation TD05, very quick spool up. Something to do with titanium bits I believe ?

RE TD05 on the EVO, don't forget that it sits much closer to the heads, and the gas isn't havng to go through several feet of pipe first.

Floyd,
I ran the Dawes with my PPP to up boost marginally - tek2 by itself seemed a bit tame, so I slapped the Dawes back on...and carefully monitored everything with DeltaDash![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
When I get some time I'll do a couple of direct power run data log comparisons between the PPP and tek2 (both with Dawes) - they feel different (tek2 is *very* smooth), and I'm not sure which is quicker!

Bu66er!
I was hoping not to see a post like yours, content that the TEK2 would give better results than the PPP and better than a DD +std ECU car.
Have you had RR figures for comparison Dowser? Or perhaps because it is so smooth that it masks the speed?

Lets put it like this - I've been running with the tek2 over the PPP for 2 weeks now. I just want to datalog to be sure...as you say, because it's so much smoother ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
If you fit a tek2 in place of a standard ecu it will be like fitting a PPP ecu - you'll notice a big gain
But I *already* had a PPP ecu.....
When I get time I will do a back-to-back dyno run...but it wont be for a while now (need to finish brakes and fit new suspension first).

MY96 - SS BB & DP, Blitz induction and now a shiny new Defi boost gauge ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
3000 - 0.7
3500 - 0.9 (Peak) (well just over 0.9
)
4000 -> 0.8 (held)
and how cool are defi gauges?!?! cool toy to play with while your waiting the car to cool![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Now that is over what I expexted from a MY96 but I have been told IIRC that the fuel cut should kick in just over 1bar. I should have my Dawes ariving sometime soon (within a couple of weeks)

UK00, full PPP, ScoobySport down-pipe and de-cat centre-section, ITG panel filter.
In 3rd gear, 12 deg C, Optimax, Defi gauge reads in Kg/Cm2 - so these bar figures are 2% out
Car hits max boost of 1.2bar/17.4psi at 2,700rpm
3,000rpm 1.2bar/17.4psi (ditto 4th gear)
4,000rpm 1.2bar/17.4psi (ditto 4th gear)
5,000rpm 1.1bar/15.95psi (ditto 4th gear)
6,000rpm 0.9bar/13.05psi
7,000rpm 0.8bar/11.6psi
Peak boost 1.25 - 1.3ish, 1.2bar held. In warmer weather, held boost is 1.1 - 1.15ish.
John, looking foward to your new ECU/turbo findings

With 1.5 PSI less boost pressure across the range and small changes to fuelling and timing with a Tek 3 I have the same torque and power that the Dawes setup had and in some areas the difference is marked. Still some work to do on it to get it just right - Scottish air is different to English air - thankfully - so the boost control is a bit frisky right now. The Ecutek software is very nice indeed for mapping
and it is so much better than faffing around with Dawes and fuel cut lifters.

Yes I now have the software. Mervyn, Stephen and I worked on the map at PE. Interesting that some of the biggest gains came from adding in fuel to the Subaru lean spot during spool up - and this is without an induction kit. This netted about 20lbft in some areas.

John, do you ever go on holidays abroad? If yes, how about coming over to Greece?

VF22/28 Hybrid, often called a BT270 ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
3000 - 1 bar
3250 - 1.25 bar
1.25 bar then held until red line at 7000 rpm
Car has HKS FMIC, HKS Headers (manifold), 440cc Injectors, Link ECU Scoobysport Downpipe (for now...), HKS Hiper Exhaust system, Custom up pipe, home brew Induction Kit, erm...water injection not plumbed in...uprated fuel pump in it's box, pressure reg on order...
Oh yeah it's an MY98 UK Turbo, with a 77000 mile engine that's been thrashed![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Thats strange
I havn't noticed any real "drop" in boost after it drops to the "held" pressure. Is this just a phase 2 engine thing or am I just not reading the gauge properly? I'll give it some hammer on the way home ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Problem is I'll never get outa 3rd as 6500rpm is about 85-90 (IIRC) and 6500 rpm in 4th is going to be a lot faster than I'm prepared to do on a road
Maybee my local dragstrip (aka the A329M will be used
)
although 12 is about 0.8bar which is the same as me![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
