Just put my 2001 Bugeye track WRX on the road and didn't realise how noisy the gearbox is. It make a whirring on acceleration and deceleration. Also make the whirring out of gear, in neutral and rolling, no clanging or viscos binding and changes perfectly. Checked oil level which is OK. Is it the diff? The code is TY754VN2AA. Is it best to get a fleabay replacement or take it off and get it looked at. Don't have a 4 post but a crane, was thinking about taking the engine and box out as don't fancy the box falling on me! Or shall I put up and turn the music up? Wouldn't mind getting a mechanic to do it if someone local to Surrey. Thanks!

Most likely a bearing going bad in your transmission. Don't keep running it or you will end up spending hundreds to thousands of dollars in repairs because of a $10.00 bearing. It will take a full days work to remove trans and replace bad bearing and reinstall the transmission. Or just don't drive it untill you save the money to have it repaired.have fun!

I didn't think of that myself, Im going thrue this myself with a transmission rebuild caused by a small cone bearing going south and chewing up 3rd gear in the process. That's why I jumped to the trans. Don't want anyone else having to go thrue this if at all possible.
