cat wrapped - good idea?
#1
I currently have my original downpipe thermo wrapped, but have been told that this could cause severe damage on the warm-up cat (the big one just behind the turbo). The rest of my exhaust line is a Blitz Nur Spec R.
Apparently the mat around the brick could become higher than usual, resulting in the brick eventually becoming loose, blocking the exhaust gases and blowing the turbo...
What should I do, remove the wrapping asap or is it all bollocks and leave it on.
Thanks for any help.

Not that I know about these things but I have never read of anyone wrapping an exhaust which has a cat in it. Where people have wrapped exhausts it is on after market stainless steel downpipes which have no cat in them.
