I'm thinking of going the above route as it's even cheaper than a Dawes BUT:

1)Will I still retain the overboost fuel cut facility? Or will the
reduced restrictor "fool" the std ECU into seeing less than the actual boost?

2)What will be more worthwhile fitting, an AFR or Knock Link?

3)Does an AFR require a seperate sensor?

4)I have a PPP ECU, would it be safer to fit this before altering the boost?

Please excuse my ignorance Cheers,John

1)Yes you will retain the overboost fuel cut facility?

2)Both really!

3)No

4)Yes you may find that from this improvement alone you may not want to increase the boost.

On late cars at least it will only lift boost if boost is below target 13.7 std car 15.7 PSI PPP. Otherwise you will just make it peaky and the boost will oscillate in cold weather - PPP does not need any encouragement to do this I speak from bitter experience and many hours trying to get the right drill size. Save yourself the hassle and fit a Dawes instead.

However if you fit a fuel cut lifter the ECU will not interfere and your held boost can be increased.

Pre MY99 cars may be different I haven't played with them.

Tks John for your reply, Hmmm fitting a fuel cut lifter I'm against this personally but I'll see what happens

Hi John
Just realised I did not reply to your last e-mail - sorry.
Also posted a reply which did not seem to post.
My UK98 has a £2.83 0.8mm orifice drilled out (£2 for bit) to either 0.9mm or 1.0mm (cant remember as its a year ago I did it).
With 0.8mm gave peak boost of 21-22psi. Now gives peak at 19-20psi. PPP drops boost as revs build which I suspect stops engine going bang. PPP has never cut through high boost so no idea what it is set to. Have rr fuel regulator to give extra fuel. Select monitor checked every 6 months - all parameters OK + no faults recorded.
Rather spend £5 and 30 mins max on mod + fitting than ££££££ for a Dawes
