Question

I have recently had my UK MY99 engine and turbo replaced under warrentee. I have run it in for 1500 miles and had an oil and filter change. Everything is great but for one thing...

At tickover 750 or so and up to 1100 revs (if I lightly touch and hold the accelerator) the engine (or car)appears to shake mildly from side to side. This completely stops from 1100 revs upwards. It is annoying and was not there during the previous 6 months I owned the car. Tickover is otherwise smooth and steady, no popping or spluttering and it runs at all other revs sweeter than ever before.

I mentioned this to the dealer and they say that some cars and some engines do this in the range !! Is this right ?
Does anyone know if engine mounts or something in a new engine can cause this wobbling at tickover ?

ANY suggestions (backed my tecky explainations) would be much apreciated...

Cheers,

MKC

Yes, it did have new plugs. Subaru dealer put them in.
It doesn't sound "misfirey", but I suppose it wouldn't at low revs.
Were they supposed to have gapped the plugs etc...?
Are their any other tests I can do to establish its a misfire ?

Cheers,

MKC

Coil packs or Lambda sensor would be where I would look.

Just read the year of the car, it won't be coil packs

Lambda and MAF then.
