I suppose it has been mapped for a car with specific mods so difficult to price really.

Price of the licence worth nothing extra as been mapped for another engine so will never behave correctly even with same mods, nobody would be silly enough to plug it in and run it without getting it mapped to suit, i have a jdm ecu here mapped to suit 456 bhp but its worth nothing as only good for car it was mapped for.

Steady on. Was asked what map was on it in private messages by several people so thought it's easier to put it public.

And to be honest ^^^^this^^^^ is true
Although I think 80£ is being generous, plenty of E3 ecus available for under 50£
Having someone else's map on there doesn't make it more valuable, sad but true.

Off course it makes it more valuable as the prospective buyer wont have to pay the full 500 ecutek remap cost as the license is already on the ecu so its guts of 150-200 of a saving depending on who you get to map it.

And all someone has to do is take a punt on it, plug it in and get the car/map checked against it. If its all against a std my99 car then its worth punt imo

Youll get 100 easily for it & potentially more if you ebay it

I don't get why someone with a 99 car would not just get it mapped open source? Does this not achieve the same as having ecutek on there?
So pay 100+ for an ecu that basically is the same ecu in your my99 car then pay the mapper 300 for a fresh remap,or have your car mapped open source for 300?

I'm not offended by the comments was only justifying the reason as to why I wrote about the ecutek as I've been having a lot of offers and questions about it in private messages rather that to encourage a higher value.
Have had mixed opinions here and privately as some say the ecu would need remapping as above and yet others say the ecutek licence is (again as above) a huge bulk of the cost so to just eBay for £100 is and see.

Any other opinions are welcome but might just put a fleabay ad up and see.

The ecu needs remapping if you want to get the optimum performance out of the car with the ecu

But if its going in like for like car, then all it needs done is checked that its running safely then determine from there what the new owner wants to do. To do they wanna pay another 300 for a fresh map if not safe then that is the risk, or just be happy they now have say a safe 260bhp as opposed to their std 215bhp

Amount of my99/00 uk cars is minimal, and those worth spending 500 on a remap even less so, so a quick punt on a licensed ecu on a std car is worth it

Fair point,I thought opensource had cracked the 99/00 cars
I personally would want a full remap, but you're right that someone will take a punt and plug&play in a like for like car, chances are it will run det free and be safe.
