Default Engine management light eml / cel

The previous owner of my 2007 hawkeye Impreza removed the 02 sensor for some reason (he has put a aftermarket exhaust one) and due to this the car has a fault p0134. But the engine light does not come on to show the error, it doesn't even light up at the self test part when the ignition is on before the engine is started. I'm hoping to fix the the engine light and take the car to be re mapped and see what they say about the sensor (if it needs it or not with the exhaust)

But I can't seen to see how the light has been disconnected, I've the wires coming out of the ecu and also into the speedo but they all seem fine, the back of the speedo looks fine too,

Can anyone give me some advise on the engine light and possibly also if it needs the front 02 sensor?

the engine management light is a led on the board. remove the whole board assembly from the clocks and flip it over - you'll see where the led should be.

if the removed sensor is the rear o2 then yes it can stay out and be properly mapped out (not just codes turned off on the hawk but your mapper will know this).

I've taken the instrument panel out and the led bulb was broken. i have soldered in a new led and it is working. now i just need to work out if i need the front 02 sensor or if Duncan graham can map/sort it when i get hold of him as he has previously mapped the car according to the previous owner.

out of interest do you have link to the LED that you used? I could never find one that worked well. You 100% need the front o2 for fuelling corrections, the rear one can be turned off in the map though.

I just went to a local electrical component shop and asked for an led, it was only 50p lol. I'll paste a link for one similar mate (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kingbrigh...4wAAOSw7aFa55o)

Oh I thought the front could also be mapped out? The Car has been running fine apart from an overboost issue in 4th and 5th

you can turn the codes off for the front one as well but you'll lose any hope of fuel economy and passing an emissions test at the end of the year.
