There are loads of Scoobs out there to choose from , Really your best bet mate would be to get yourself out on the next two Thursday nights if possible
This Thursday ( 9th ) Halfway house On the A127
Following Thursday (16th ) The Lodge Nr South Woodham Ferres
Here you will see 20 / 30+ Different scoobs from all ages & Years different limited editions etc ...
You will also be able to talk to the guys & Girls who own these cars , To give you a good idea about running costs etc...
Then set yourself a budget & start looking ...
Off course the best model to have has to be the Bugeye WRX 2001

have a look at a good few scoobies first.
Always test drive them, if they appear to be holding back, misfiring, blue smoke, walk away.
Import Imprezas are the best, as they have more power, and usually are fully loaded.
Unless an Import has been remapped for UK fuel, you'll have to use octane boost every time you fill up.
check the car over like you would any other car
