Default ESC GOLF SOCIETY - APRIL 2006

ESC GOLF SOCIETY 2006 CALENDAR

Oh Yes not just the next date but a whole calendar of them!
Now you know why it took some time to post the next thread.

26th April – The Hertfordshire Golf & Country Club, Broxbourne.
Bacon Roll + Coffee, 18 holes, Lunch £38

5th June – Ballards Gore, Canewdon, Near Rochford.
Bacon Roll + Coffee, 9 hole Texas Scramble, Lunch 18 holes £39

19th July – Austin Lodge, Dartford
Bacon Roll + Coffee, 18 holes, Lunch £35

12th Sept – The Warren, Woodham Walter, near Maldon
Bacon Roll + Coffee, 18 holes, Lunch £39

25th Oct – tbc. (will see if I can get permission to have a society day at Hanover).
Maybe a Stroke play or Pairs Competition?

All competitions to be Stableford scored, unless stated.

Handicaps to begin with will be as per club handicaps, these will be cut for the next round for scores greater than 36 points, anyone over 40 points will of course be made to where a sombrero for the next round!

As agreed at the Jack and Jenny all the fees are the cost + £5 to cover the cost of event trophies and giving a prize fund (this will be a combination of cash and/or golfing prizes).
I had no problem collecting the monies for Benton Hall which was great, thanks guys. All of the above require me to pay a deposit a month or two before the event. I will post a new thread for each round and would appreciate full payment as soon as possible, I don’t mind organising this for everybody, but I don’t want to have to be chasing money in, cheers in advance.

Groups will be draw on the day, so that we all get to play with each other! (I’m sure I could have worded that better)
Guests are welcome, although at some courses the numbers are limited. Guest will always be drawn with their ESC member.

Look forward to seeing you all at The Hertfordshire, thought we had better go and get our trophy back!

2. Tiny
3. Fitzscoob

Looking forward to this already, Neil have they asked you what holes to have nearest to the pin on and longest drive on?

I'd recommend the 9th for longest drive, and the 15th par 3 for nearest to the pin

Come get the trophy boys!

Just to let everyone know, The Hertfordshire will more than likely have the starter on, to get everyone off the first tee.

They are sticklers for a few things, Shirts must have collars (and they must be tucked in), no trainers on the course at all, no jeans, if we get an amazingly hot day and you wear shorts, they have to be tailored shorts. No sharing clubs on the course.

I think that covers most of the general rules, these are common for all golf courses some just decide to enforce them more than others.

Just thought it best to put this up, it would be a shame to come all the way over to get caught short because of something silly like the above

Cant wait!

Most courses I've played have the same rules, must get down the range and have a practice

Ok Fitz didn't tell me this would be posh before I booked it. Please buy the appropriate gear from this site!

http://www.golfknicker.com/

I think the Dress Stuart and Maroon Combo would be perfect for our little friend!

Can't play weekdays due to work

I haven't played since we were at St Clares, and was discussing with Gangsta whether I should use left or right handed clubs.......still haven't decided, though I did buy a set of Ping left handers to try out, and haven't got as far

Default DATES CONFIRMED

Wednesday 26th April - Hertfordshire
First tee time 10.02, NTP 15th and LD 9th as you suggested Fitz

Monday 5th June - Ballards Gore, had to change from the 7th as they took a booking between my enquiry and confirming.

Wednesday 19th July - Austin Lodge

Tuesday 12th September - The Warren
Note numbers may be limited on this day, 20-25 so first come first served.

All the above have been provisionally booked for 15-30 people, the venues require a £100 deposit to be paid in the next week or so, again I don't mind paying this but I am therefore relying upon your support. Cheers guys
