Un-Marked classic police car!
I'm sure everyones seen the marked White Evo Police car.
But today on the A127, it was joined by a late classic scoob.
Was a P1 coulour Blue (not sure it was an actual P1), the car had been pimped... Big spoiler, after market rear lights, amongst other mods.
This was definetly out to cath the unsespecting boy racer/scooby enthusiast....
Keep em peeled guy's, don't want anyone getting any unwanted additiosn to their licenses!!!!

Being anxious to ensure that truth prevails....
The car was stopped and the driver who had only recently admitted to having received his licence back after a ban admitted that he yet to get insurance.
The car was seized and taken back to a holding area to wait for recovery.
It just goes to show how people jump to conclusions
It is also worth mentioning that many police officers use scoobynet and in fact one on my team has a new WRX.....
Making assumtions about "underhand methods" is quite hurtfull for officers that are doing their best to make our roads safer from criminals or uninsured drivers and I am sure if you walked into a pub and found a police officer having a pint that you would be a little more tactful - perhaps you might like to consider doing the same on forums ? - Just a thought
Safe driving,
Justin

think the problem have with police is not to do with the officer but the policy, 90% of burgery's go unsolved, yet more money is spent on stopping speeding, boy racers etc, so peoples homes are being damaged things stolen, yet no police attend, cos they all stopping speeders etc, thats the impression anyway
p.s. i would say that to any officers face

cops driving scoobys!
This is straight from the horses mouth! cops in Thames Valley area are driving round in a classic V reg, a black bugeye saloon and a citreon saxo. They are apparently targetting driving standards in urban areas and towns etc!!!! It is a growing trend dont you agree!!! once upon a time you could spot a cop car a mile off!!! nect they will be in Ice cream vans!!!

forgot to mention
I failed to mention they are not targetting scooby drivers and are well aware that most scooby drivers dont have an urge to prove how fast their car is or do not drive around like maniacs!!! As ever its just a few that let everyone down!!! Im all for drivers who drive like idiots in housing estates, towns etc getting done. A windy A or B road with lots of vision and no one about is my favourite place for a quick blast!!! funnily enough you never see speed traps or the like in those areas!!!

well yeah that is the thing!!
But unfortualy its also to do wiv a few officers, i got 5 points for changing lane without indicating?!? (a few years ago now) But the officer then was really rude as he'd just taken me as a boy racer coz i was driving a heavy modded puma.
Just wish ALL officers were the same, coz some off them are ok and decent people!

Personally i think that the difference between some police officers, is they think they are the law when in fact they are there to uphold it

I've had my scooby 2 3/4 years now, and have only been pulled over once, and that was because I drove too fast round a round about (like a ****)
He could of nicked me, but gave a few words of advice and was told he'll throw the book at me if he caught me again.
Respect to the officer.
In my experience, I have had no cause for concern with the police. I have a clean licence (touch wood), Pay tax yearly, MOT'd and insured. which the police can now check up on the PCN

with police i think its the younger officers that understand the moddid scene more than the older officers....my cases
1...stuck behind 2 slow drivers coming up to the flyover at gallows corner i decided to drop down a gear n go round the roundabout n beat them coming down the other side of the fly over, this i did but kept my foot down, got to 120 when i started breking 4 the lights[ardleigh green][12 at night]
a tap on the window once stopped shocked me but even worse it was a cop in a black bmw......pull over there i need a word...gulp he bollocked me 4 five minutes, sorry officer,,,,sorry officer 4 20 minutes we talked about my car
2...late for my football do i floored it of the slip road towards chelmsford, got the **** out round the roundabout[showing off 2 the wife] over took a couple of cars, flamer going mad....n then i saw the dreaded blue lights...i pulled over he went passed with a grin n shouted slow down...then drove off. i was doing 100mph
3..driving at 30mph down to charlie brown round about i noticed a traffic cops bmw a few cars bhind..you have to b quick at this roundabout, which i was. by the time the cops pulled out n got round the other side i had gone....then the blue lights apeard sirens going n black cops got out this to them was that i had done over 100 [no evidence]they talked to me like shxt, told my what ever they said ild get done 4,no one would belive me over them n tough ..basicly...........
i made a complaint to romfords top officer? he told me he was on my side n to take the 2 officers to court... cost 2000 pounds,,,i had no choice but to take 3 points n 80 pound fine
..........may b i got away with it in the past,,,,but still not right

agree with many comments on here, that the policy rather than the officers them selves are to blame.
I'm all for policing the roads & streets, just a shame that there is'nt more opertunity for the discression of the officer to prevail....
But that said, respect to anyone that wears a uniform!

Tidgy - Although i don't doubt your static of 90% of Burglaries go undetected, i think it is worth mentioning that Criminals in the main do not walk to commit their crimes. Statics shows that a high percentage of vehicles that are unregistered / untaxed / uninsured etc are driven by the same people who commit these type of crimes and other more common non-motoring offences.
So, by targetting those vehicles which are unregistered / untaxed / uninsured etc, should help to increase these detection rates.
As for speeding offences, in my opinion, if you exceed the speed limit and get caught, down to you !!

Very bad though that they call them 'Safety cameras', when a lot of the time, they are not even in an accident blackspot !!!
Agree that if you get caught though .... tough titty, you can't exactly miss the cameras now, being a bright yellow .
