That was my thought .... Beemers seem to be reliable, but for ESC we should (if we do it) use a Legacy estate (ESC stickered up of course ) .

Will have a good think about it thoroughly over the weekend, 90% sure I want to do this .

Good point about the legacy Estate.......ESC stickered up for a bit of publicity....

What with petrol bills/food etc it's going to come to a fair bit but for the experiance and not worrying about blowing our own cars up....
I'll have a search for legacy estates under £500....

If you do decide, i'll match your 90%

Could probably be knocked down to £500 in reddies....

Are there any rules about tuning?
because maybe some performance modifications could be donated to "The Cause" with adverts of course....

What if we picked up a cheap standard legacy, but with some persuasion with some local business's, could we swap outthe engine for a turbo???
value will still be under £500......

Otherwise, i think a nice opulant Jaguar with the biggest gas guzzling engine ever!

Loads of options....if we were to do it, it have to be in a subaru though.....

If I was doing it outside of the ESC, it be an RS turbo....cheap, easy to tune....and you can find bits along most motorways....

Plus with a 50 shot of nos?? too funny....

Have you read through the rules....

I like this one :-

Entrants are not permitted to speak in the local dialect unless within the United Kingdom or her Empires.

Not that I can speak lots of dialects !!!

a mate did this last year. pretty much had to scrap the car by the end of it. brakes were done in, shocks had gone and was only just bout running. and that was at the end of the first day!

if any of you buy ppc it was in there as he does the odd bit of writing for them and covered for the magazine.
