when is the next "ring" trip?
ive wanted to go my whole life, so..... who and when,
im thinking when it warms up some, but wanted to start this now, so people can get off and what-not.
do you guys have a time when you usually go?

Probably good that we dont have a "ring" trip for the ESC imo.
Speaking from experience, the ring is somewhere that is not the place to be as part of a large group. If you want to go i suggest that you go with a party of 3 cars in total tops.
Do not go there expecting to go round there quickly.. you will not.
Do not go there and get worried that youre being overtaken by a VW lupo.. Because i assure you that it WIL happen lol.
Do try and do as much homework ie DVDs/ games? books/ track guides as possible before you go. This will not give you any representation for the tracks gradients/undulations but it will give you an insight in to knowing where youre going. 95% of all the turns on the Nordshleife are blind and the track rises and falls by 600m. Knowing whats coming up after a blind crest at 100mph is a massive advantage.
DO NOT go out if its wet.. ive done it and never again. Resist the temptation to go out in the rain/damp. The ring from my admittedly limited experienced is a very very dangerous place to be in the wet.
I will be at the Halfway house on Thursday if you fancy a chat.. or as Tiny says, contact NeV (steve).
Remember when going to the "Ring" its all about coming home with you and your car in one piece and in the same shape it went out there in.
It is without doubt the most awesome petrol fueled place on the planet.
I love it

Frayz has nailed it very good advice
I've just arranged to go back in September with some Foresters as it is without doubt the Mother of all Tracks
When you do go, grab some passenger rides first, as it really does pay dividends for when you go out for the first time in your own car
