buying stuff from the states... ;)
i "need" to buy something from the US of A.
shipping will be about $30.00 and the goods are new and valued at £300 or so.
does anyone know if i will get stung for tax from the shippers???
the items are 2 stroke engine bits.
any advice welcome.
ps: the shippers will NOT gift wrap it!!! (i tried that one)
- feel a flight coming on...

if the sellers state that the item is a gift or present, then there's not usually a problem, I've bought a lot of stuff from abroad with no problem this way (including a TD05 20G conversion kit)
Otherwise Customs will slap on the dreaded VAT, which Parcel force will pay on your behalf then send you a letter requesting payment before they'll ship it on to you

Because we're an easy touch, just look what happened at the fuel strike, people panicked and started buying fuel again!!
IMO, the people in this country needs to take a leaf out of France's book, if they don't like something the government does, everyone knows about it and action is decisive, but it's not going to happen if people don't stand by their guns

Steve,
I'd be interested in a pair of these in uk 13 (kiddies 13 not adults) for Ali....
I noticed Sports World were doing these for £44 are these working out cheaper?
