For me (and Im no expert, i just know what i like!) I dot mind the "hatchback" style, but....... I think the wheels look to small for the arches. Looks likes someone is half ay through modifying their car, and has run out of money for the wheels............
Also, i think its a bit OTT with the flaired wheel arches.........

personally love the flarred arches. if i miraculously came into enough money to buy one, i'd fit carbon rally style mirrors, get the rear doors de-handled and do something about those awful rear lights. oh and fit a set of 18" compomotive mos in black

Stil not sure yet either.
If you had the scooby, focus ST, Astra VXR and the Citreon C4 in silhouette, the only way you would identify it would be the hump on the bonnet. All look the same to me. Need to see it in the flesh though.

The performance figures should make it stand out from the ST & VXR, I've read it does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds

2008 Subaru WRX STI Official Pictures
Specs:
4415×1795×1475mm (l/w/h)
2625mm wheelbase
245/40R18 tires
Features:
6MT/SI-DRIVE(SUBARU Intelligent Drive)
Multi mode DCCD(Drivers Control Center Differential)
Multi mode VDC(Vehicle Dynamics Control)
Motor:
2.0Liter / 1994cc (JDM)
Horizontally-Opposed 4-cylinder
Dual AVCS 16Valve DOHC
twin scroll Turbo
■ Concept
The new WRX STI was developed with the eternal theme and
essence of the driver’s car, the “total driving control,” that the
preceding WRX STI models also pursued. This AWD sports model
gives maximum driving pleasure through its combination of
power, performance, handling and ride capabilities thanks to
engineering exclusively designed for the WRX STI and its
five-door package. It also balances excellent safety and
environmental aspects at a high level.
■ Styling
Using a new five-door body style developed from the Impreza
model, the new Impreza WRX STI displays a powerful design
language that speaks directly to its performance credentials,
integrating function and beauty. Adopting shortened front and
rear overhangs, a longer wheelbase and widened body flares,
the Impreza WRX STI clearly embodies driving performance in
dynamic exterior design that delivers as overwhelming
presence and beauty.
■ Performance
The new Horizontally-Opposed 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo
charged engine was developed exclusively for the new WRX STI.
By further improving the basic performance of the engine, and
mating it to SI-DRIVE (SUBARU Intelligent Drive), the WRX STI offers
not only outright performance as might be expected, but also
delivers excellent handling under extreme as well as normal
driving conditions.
Featuring Subaru’s unique Symmetrical AWD and specially
developed in-house 6-speed manual transmission as its base
technologies, multi mode DCCD* and VDC**, which control
traction and stability more precisely, have also been added to WRX
STI. To complete its performance credentials, the evolved chassis
by “Subaru Dynamic Chassis Control Concept” has dramatically
improved road-hugging capability and will provide exhilaration
and confidence in every driving situation.

I really like the shape myself, and I feel it's needed for Subaru to be competitive in the WRC again.
Lets face it the standard scoob no matter what shape always has a few bits that aren't any good and that's why we all love em and look to see what mods can be done both engine and styling.

I will need to see one first before making any decisions, but will probably be looking for a new car next year, either a newer scooby, or keep the one I have got and look for something else...decisions desicions
