I've kept quite upto now about ESB.
There are a lot of members who have used ESB & had a great service of Jamie/Rob & Em me include, I just would like to say they would bend over backwards for there customers & are cheap at the same time, it amazers me how many times they get ripped apart in here & not once has anybody defended there corner. people seem to forget the bad things about other Subaru specalists within Essex, I had a bad experience once which cost me money, but put down to experience & moved on.
I don't mean to offend anyone but I just feel there are to many sheep in here who are fed a load of crap just because that person thinks they know better.
Jamie/Rob & Em don't give up the fight.
Rant over
you can now bring the onslaught on

Hi Wozza,
what's bought this on?
TBH from my experience, I think generally people are pretty good at keeping there bad news stories off here. When you chat at meets you hear a lot of stories, that you have not seen posted up.
The only negative thread was Spally, when after trying to resolve an issue he ran out of patience. And even then his post was fair and balanced, and he fed back when they started to resolve the issues.

I don't disagree with you there, but how many other members have had problems with other companys regarding poor service only for other members to sugar coat over the problem.

I don't think ESB deserve it, Jamie is a top bloke who works on our cars on his own, he has been let down sometimes by his good nature to help people.

fair post wozza, am not going to disagree with Jamie being a decent fella. It happens in every walk of life/business. There will be customers that will sing praises from the hill tops, then there are others that wouldnt....that's a fact of life.
I have had dealings with another ex subaru company which went down this sort of route and again after keeping it off the forums for a while, i felt the only thing left to do was post. Which i did and that got results.
But fair play to ESB, if they are keeping you happy then carry on using them, i would if i was in your position.

Thank you Wozzaa for fighting our corner
!
As for Spally's car, Jamie fixed what he thought was causing the braking problem, test drove it and Spally picked the car up, drove it home, and all was fine. He then called back a few days later to say the problem was still there (fair enough, obviously what Jamie fixed wasn't the cause of the problem) so all Spally had to do was book the car in again for another look. This is what ALL our customers do, and no one complains! (I'm not digging at Spally, I am just stating the facts!)
I'm sure as EVERY Subaru owner is aware of with some problems its a game of elimnination, and yes it can get pricey, but we are driving SUBARUS not Ford Fiesta 1.1's!! To have your Scooby 100% perfect you either buy a standard, untouched one and leave it untouched, drive it like a normal car, or be prepared to pay out loads of £££ to upgrade and have everything strengthened to cope with what you are asking it to do! Most owners have bought a 10 year old car, that has probably had a hard life... You haven't bought a "Rally Ready" car that you see on TV!
My first Scooby, that most of you know, was standard. Drove like a dream, I had a few minors mods (decatted downpipe, FMIC) and I never ragged that car, (which is why I get ripped about not exceeding 3000 revs!
) But that car was never on the ramps, unless it was having a service! My Type R I now have is COMPLETELY standard, doesn't even burble loudly, and so far, touch wood, because I respect it, and don't rag the nuts out of it, it runs like a dream!
All I am saying is respect your scooby, and treat it well, and it will repay you back by not costing a fortune in repairs
!!
Thanks for reading, and I'm sorry if I have offended anyone, I dont mean to

If you actually take note of Spec C's remark and actually take a look at the wheel bearing i reckon that there's a 99.9 chance that it is fercked!! and believe it or not be cause of the brake problem....

fair enough em, i did try to ring and re book my car in, but am still waiting for the call back.
Not to worry now, the car is off the road and hopefully, will not be with me much longer.
agree with looking after your scoob, i learnt that when i first brought the car and the first engine went bang.

Sorry EmEm but the red lining remark and the 3k remark are both ridiculous....
my car actually started to 'over run' when turned off at one point because it hadn't been driven hard enough!!!

Hi,
I've had the same problem with my wheel bearing on the MY99 classic, and it does cause a brake problem. It was sorted by a dealer in the end only because it was under warrenty. I know Mrs Spec C's car had the same wheel bearing issue as mine. Hope it all gets sorted and we see Spally back in a scooby soon. Our road is far to quiet at the moment.
Thanks,
Neil

Ive used ESB be on a several occassions and will continue to do so.
If it wasnt for jamie sorting me out the back end of a car after i decided to modify mine with a caravan i would still be driving around with a very dented subaru.
They are all willing to give advise and not just take the money.
Keep up the good work guys![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

fair play Rich. glad you are happy there. As i've said before they are not a bad bunch of people.
I've just had problems from day 1 with car going back on more than 1 occasion, with engine problems as well as braking problems.
So have decided to cut my loses with ESB and and take the car else where.
