Tunnel Run Thanks
Phew it's over.
What can I say? I honestly think that this was the best one yet, there MUST have been 200 cars, we took over the entire right hand side of the car par and filled it
The route seemed to work quite well this year and the sight of 200 cars at McDonalds was just amazing
I'd love to take the credit for the whole event but it just wouldn't be true... so many people helped out in so many ways to make tonight what it was.
The committee members were.....
97Catalunya
Boney Em
Bri4n
Wozzaa
Scoobymaz &
Spally
Without them it would have been impossible. This years route was accomplished with their assistance....
In particular I want to thank Boney Em for liasing with Essex Air Ambulance and Wozzaa for the vinyl
I'd also like to thank Phil Stephens/SIDC for the loan of the radio equipment and vests
Nate for donating the hi-vis vests to the ESC
Tiny for arranging the embroidery "ESC Event Management"
Wazo & Wimpy for helping drum up support from their respective regions. Its with their help that we surely reached the 200 mark Thanks for coming boys
and finally Total Impreza magazine for agreeing to come and cover the event. I haven't spoken to them again tonight but they must have thought "oh a car club meet, there will only be 20 cars" Welcome to events ESC stylee
I would also wish to thank everyone for giving so generously for charity. It always sounds so cliched, but we REALLY have done well this year.
Finally Mrs M for putting up with me recently. It's been a bit stressful
I hope I haven't forgotten anyone. If I have it's not intentional, I'm tired.

Milamber,
I cannot add anything to the above, apart from what a sterling job was made to make the event carry off without a hitch ....... I don't even think anyone got lost.
The directions and camera positions were spot on
Roll on next year ......
Maybe I'll add some more horns

1 hitch to report.............
97Catalunya may still be sitting at Thurrock services after blowing what at 1st glances looks like his rad (heres hoping that its nothing worse )
Was informed after ringing the "AA" (the 4th emergancy service) that they could be sitting there for 30 mins they could be waiting 3 hrs.
Not to be too vage!
Even though there was a "AA" flat bead truck sitting not 60 yrds away in the same car park and when asked if he would be able to do anything the responce was........"call them"
Cheers.

Great night everyone, have to agree with Chris, the sight around Mcdonalds was amazing. It didn't look like that when we planned the route!!!
I hope everyone enjoyed it, and looking forward to next year already (quite happy to be on the comittee again )
Can't wait till Total Impreza magazine comes out, not quite sure what they made of it. I know he wasn't expecting that many cars

I told you it was late and I was tired.....
The comment that keeps being repeated is how no-one got lost this year........ this is all down to the ESC map man who must spend hours scanning the route and preparing the routes for us, without his help I am sure it would have been another story....
Massive thanks to FLAT ERIC

It was a very good night - we did divert a bit - although intentionally - caught back up with you all for the Limehouse and then macDonalds! WHAT a sight - all those cars in MacDonalds! Fantastic. From the roundabout up and down the road were 77 scoobies parked up - thats without the ones ON the roundabout, in the macdonalds car park - AND the road alongside macdonalds. Would love to know how many we had in total.
PS - does anyone know who was driving the black BMW that was with us on the way home via the A13 - dunno what you've got under there mate - but you were quick - fastest BM I've ever seen!
BIG thanks to all of those who planned it, collected for it and all the rest - well done guys and gals!

WOW What a fantastic night Well done everyone helping in the organisation, HUGE RESPECT to Milamber for the best tunnel run yet
But most of all THANK YOU to all that came and behaved so well, and gave so generously to the EAA, we will be counting up the moneys l8r and will let you know the figure
As for the end of our night
Got home @ 3:45 Official time or 4:45 actual time
Big thanx to everyone who waite tried to help still haven't had an official diagnosis but really hoping it is just the rad
Thanx to Mark B4 for all your advice and thanx to Johnny_STI for your company while waiting for the truck Scooby newbie no more count yourself ESC Hardcore
Have to say though the AA what a disorganised joke have been a member for some time but never called them out b4, I understand you have to phone them to get response, but frustrating when ther was an AA flatbed in the car park all evening with a driver twiddleing his thumbs? think my favorite bit was about an hour and a half after I called them was the text they sent me??
"AA" To help you as quickly as possible we will be sending D & G CARS LTD garage, they aim to be with you by 2:25.
When as pointed out their was a flatbed parked 60 feet away
Anyway back on topic LOL.
WELL DONE GUYS!....................
