Lol... where do i start??

Having Anti-lag for proper competition use is fine, having it for show use is a complete waste of time & money.

Yes you can have mild anti-lag. But TBH the kind of (Anti-lag System) ALS you'll be wanting will be the kind that is really loud and aggressive like the works cars use... not suitable for road use.

(Explanation in its simplest, crudest term)

When the throttle butteryfly is closed. The ALS works via retarding the ignition timing and adding fuel/air when the exhaust valve is open.
This allows the fuel to ignite in the exhaust system and thus firing a flame through the turbocharger turbine wheel.

This explosion in the exhaust system obviously has to go via the turbocharger. This in turn keeps the turbine wheel spinning when the throttle is shut.

The excess heat that is created when this happens can be huge and the forces/shock loading can easily damage the turbocharger if it is not suitable for Anti-lag.

A Maram-247 shaft within the turbo will be required at the very least if you want any longevity from your turbocharger. ALS will also require an ECU change and alterations to the ISC system.

IMO if you do not compete with your car.. dont even waste your time, money and effort.

This can be done by turning on the injector duty at a higher RPM...

Plenty of pops and bangs on overrun without ALS.

I have it but only because it was 150 quid on top of what I was paying anyway (£1200) for a new ecu. It's not somthing you use all the time so turbo damage is limited. I have had mine about 12 months and not seen any issues yet. Its only a mild AL map (3 psi I think).

You can feel the difference with it on, I mainly use it for quick blast stuff - 5 mins at a time as it soon gets very hot.

Had two cars anti lagged now by ma developments
no probs at all

and no remap and overrun will sound like anti lag imho

totally disagree about waste of money
you could argue that a remap, zorst, suspension and brakes were not a needed mod if not trackin` your car

Its all down to personal choice, plenty of evos at ma developments when i was there with als and with no issues

go for it mate its the nuts - autronic.......

in fact- sell it mate and buy a beemer

i know it's pointless etc.
BUT..... the best mod i've had bar far is the pops and bangs out the back!
i don't have anti lag and i think it could be overkill, but i could never have another scoob unless it pops & bangs! always makes me smile after a hard day to the car cackling away!

£1200 - 1500 depending on what ecu you choose. Price includes mapping and ecu.
