Just got my new truck, can't wait to the forecasted snow now

I'll be getting a fuel card soon, so with the money I'll be saving for insurance, tax and fuel, not to mention selling the Golf, I could be in another Scoob soon

Don't forget to allow for the extra tax the tax man will take from you for the benefit of having said company vehicle and fuel card.

Pick-ups used to be virtually exempt but I'm sure that is changing or may have already changed for pick-ups with 4 doors and 4 - 5 seats. They will be taxed the same as a car.

If you do a lot of miles in it, it will still be cheaper than running your own vehicle, especially when you add in the cost of servicing etc.

nice one paul
whats your first mod going to be
maybe we should have a mini meet for double cabs

BTW fozzy
the rules have changed for the better
as long as the truck can carry over 1 ton
its classed as a commercial
no tax liability at all even with fuel card and private mileage

Pete,

we need to talk, after we spoke about this at golf, i spoke to my accountant yesterday and he still stated that there is tax to be paid, if using for private use, see link

Mitsubishi-Motors/New L200 - Van Tax

If you know how to get round this then L200 Animal here I come!

i used to pay £500 off tax code for all in
now i pay nothing
i will look into it but then again
how do you define private use
i see myself as permanently on call
tools are always with me when i drive the truck
thats why the golf clubs were on the back seat
(sorry to mention the golf day)
this may be hard for paul to prove but in your position
i see you having no problems at all
after 6 years of double cab ownership i still find this the most
tax friendly method for me
let me know if you need to know more neil

I think it's the same for me, as I'm a maintenace engineer, I'll have to do call outs and can be sent to France at a moments notice ( I have to keep my passport handy in case I do). Though I don't carry tools on a daily basis, I could get a call, so would have to go into work, pick my tool box up, along with any spares I might need and go on my merry way.
Plus there's "Plant Maintenance" sign written on the back

I think I still get taxed £500 for my company pick-up.

With mine they allow driving to and from my usual place of work as business miles and is not classed as private use.

Think i'm with baldie Pete, i'm a P.AY.E. employee of a Limited company
(I just happen to own the Ltd Company )

Still need to understand how that works then confirm with my accountants that I can do the same.
Mind you, there would still be the issue of convincing Andrea to drive the Animal.
