Just before xmas, i changed the temperature coolant sensor. Since that, i seem to be using alot of water and was constantly topping up.
Yesterday, i left my mates, travelled about 4 miles and when i parked up, there was plenty of steam coming up from where the air intake for the turbo is.
I did hear a sizzling sound as water was dropping onto the manifold/turbo, but as it was dark, i couldn't see where it was coming from.
Does anyone now what coolant pipes are around near the turbo?
There was still a drop of coolant in the tank, so reckon a pipe could be split, but any help here would be gratefully appreciated.
My car is a WRX 1995 Import.
Cheers.
Scotty.

Is Frayz the only person on here how can answer questions?
There is coolant going into the turbo as well as an oil supply.
It is possible that the hose has split, but could also be the header tank, I've known a few instances where the tank leaks from the metal seal around the top of the tank, also the tank on the early classic is made from a bakerlite type of plastic which can get very brittle

The coolant that goes into the turbo, is this hear the air intake for the turbo, and can this drip onto anything hot?

Appologies for not seeing this sooner.
Get the car running in the daylight fella, should be too hard to see where its coming from. The top turbo hose has been known to leak cooloant past the spring clamp that holds them on.
As corni says, the up-pipe ans headers are directly below, so any coolant driping that side of the engine will probably be heard sizzling on the exhaust system.
Keep us posted.

Cheers Frayz. Think i'll leave it till saturday morning when its light, as i leave for work in the dark and come home in the dark.
I drove it to my dad's this morning and loads of steam came off the engine when i pulled up. Drive it back home this evening and no steam to be seen, but i could smell the coolant.
