There's no real answer to that, classic owner will say theirs are the best, and the same with New age, it's horses for courses.

Either way, I'd always recommend people to buy an imported Scoob as they have a far better spec than UK, but that depends on the person's age for insurance purposes.

Obviously the newage is the "Better" car. Is stronger, more rigid, better spec'd, quieter, handles better, more refined blah blah blah.

That comes at the price of added weight over that of a classic.

What do you want from the car?

Buy a 2.5 hawkeye or JDM spec C then.

If you want to mod a car thats the best of the bunch.

i've had both and the newage is by far the better car lol

as has been said it is all down to each individual and what plans they have for modding the car.

I own both and they are as different as they are similar and they achieve scoobyness in different ways. NewAge is effortlessly quick, smooth comfortable quiet-ish, safer, light on the controls etc these charateristics are both good and bad. I find the 2.5 harder to use to its potential on the road as the amount of torque and power needs restraint and would see you dead or in prison before you reach the end of the A130. The high seating position is also a real annoyance. That said everytime I go out in it I fall in love over again, the way it sounds the acceleration in every gear Newages are expensive at this age so scoobyness comes at a price for what is a modern take on the original.

The classic is quick, harsh, noisey, heavy on the controls, probably less safe in a crash but there is something about it that makes me feel like I am driving a proper scoob. Sitting **** on the floor, spitting flames and spanking it to the rev line, just feeling the whole car the experience is worth having both cars for. If you like to feel like a hooligan on the weekend for little outlay this is the car for you I thought initially that I would gladly swap the Spec D for the classic, but I was wrong, I get different enjoyment from both cars and its pointless trying to compare them as they achieve their unique scoobyness in different ways. Wife and mistress comes to mind

Also the various stages of tune within the NewAge/Classic owners cars is such that it gets even harder to compare.

good comparison there 53. my classic did feel more of a raw kick up the ar53 type of car where as the blob seems more refined.

After having a bug eye and now a classic I think I prefer the classic to drive as it feels so much lighter then the bug eye did. As has already been said though it is all down to personal opinion.

CLASSIC all the way..... I have a Type R ( ), and I love it to bits!! I do feel that the classics do have more GRRR to them, and it does depend on what you'd be using them for;

General driving, may be track, modding - CLASSIC
Long distance driving, "family" car etc - NEWAGE
(BUT that doesn't mean you couldn't use a classic for the family, or take a newage around the track!)

It is a real personal thing, and I think that if you said Subaru Impreza to a non-Subaru person, they would probably picture a Classic in their head .

I love Classics ...... but that doesn't mean to say I would never own a newage......... oh no........... is that a bit of wool growing........*cough* "BAAAAAAAA!"... *cough*........excuse me!!

Classics must be better, I mean you've had this one ages and not a tree in sight.
