Scoob stolen in Romford
One of mates informed me that one of his neighbours had his car stolen from his drive the other night.
Its a UK300 but he wasnt too sure of the year as it had a private plate.
As far as he is aware the car was taken to order, he has a few quite nice cars down his road (Mercs, BMWs etc etc) but they chose to take the Scoob instead.
They broke into his house (while the family were asleep) and ransacked it looking for the keys, even going into there 8 year old daughters bedroom.
Once stolen they proceeded to total it..........

Wouldn't recommened the Shotgun into the air routine, thats a night in the cell, angry neigbours being woke at 2am and hefty fine.
Wire in one of the Motorola mobile phones hardwired to your battery and sit it under your floor carpet or inside a rear seat. They have gps and tracking facilities.
From work now I know my car is sitting on the drive. I do have the RAC Trackster but.
a.) its more expensive
b.) has more limitations
Least I can log on and view where that phone is now, ie. where the car is and doubt the thieves will find the phone hidden.
Got the idea after reading about how some women bought her husband this phone as she suspecting him of having an affair so used to look where he kept going.
Apparently it wasn't the pub with mates after work each night.

mobile phone tracking in rural areas is only about 5km accuracy though....IIRC
thats a lot of ground to cover to find a car (especially if its locked up)
would be interested to see it working though....
is it around £5.00 per month to track a phone???

Not sure on what the Motorola model number is the phone itself is around 2 years old.
Lots of companies offer the service now though, you pay a fee in advance of say £50 and that'll let you have 300 searches on your phone location for example. As Dazza states though they work on 'which cell' your currently in which leaves a wide area to search/locate.
Lots of the new phones ie. Nokia N95 have GPS that can pinpoint your location to within a few feet so providing you can have some form of exterior sensor that the satellites can view and detect you should be able to access that information and view where the phone is sitting.
The concept is so parents can keep tabs on there children via mobile phone to know where they are.
how mobile cell id location tracking works
There is a flash movie on there shows the basics.
The 'Spycall' on there is pretty good. You ring say your other halfs phone and it auto-answers then you listen to the conversation and when you hang up the phone does. Wonder if anyone has every done that?
