Selling up... The RA might have to go :(
I haven't advertised this properly yet as I'm still trying to convince myself to keep it but its not looking good.
To cut a very long story short. We are currently running 2 cars but one of them is Kellys parents which we are using whilst they are away. Well their back soon and we really need a car each.
I could buy a little run around for Kelly and keep the RA but I recently got promoted at work and we are looking to move to a larger house. Well to do this we need to seriously streamline and the RA may have to go.
What I'm looking to do is sell her (the RA NOT Kelly!) and buy a couple of cheap cars. Looking at a 97> Fiesta 5 door and maybe a Focus for me. (Ford as i work there ....)
If anyone knows anyone looking for an imprezza that's got me be one of the best models to buy, please pass on my details.
It's a 1995 Imprezza WRX STI Type RA
- STI PINK Showa shocks with Tein Springs (Lazer aligned by Xtreme Scoobies)
- HKS 3" exhaust with centre decat BUT cat'd downpipe remaining! (MOT friendly).
- HKS S/Steel Headers.
- 17" STI 7 Wheels with new Toyo TX4 tyres
- Black Lightweight Rays wheels nuts
- Dawes Device fitted and "mapped" by Mocom Racing
- Full set in TIM in dash gauges
- Sony Radio with original Fujitsu Speakers
It's done 85Km (53K miles) and is in very good condition.
MOT for a year no advisories and 6 moths TAX.
It has a closed deck block engine with 5th injector.
Lightweight Panels with Alloy Bonnet and boot.
Intercooler water spray.
No spound proofing in doors (not even speakers in the front)
Manual windows and no central locking for weight.
Roof Vent.
Quick rack.
Does have AC!
DCCD is on the vehicle, but the centre diff was removed by the previous owner due to a fault (this was done by Extreme in Boreham and I have been told they still have it?)
When I got the car I had it checked over by Zak at Mocom and Extreme (they did the suspension work). I changed all the fluids and the spark plugs and had a new Cat 1 alarm fitted also.
Zak also fitted a Dawes device for extra security again boost spikes and not to up the boost. This was of course extensively road tested.
I also had a leaky steering rack whick I had Xtreme remove and recondition, this cost over £500 but is now as new. (only a month ago)
The car drives really well and is all you need from an Impreza. I never missed the adustable diff as I actually like the reliability of 50:50, but that could be sorted?
Like most cars, this will come with an extensive spare package lol Including another spare quick rack (hens teeth), a spare set of STI gold wheels with as new rubber (note the car is actually on gold STI7 rims not black), spare ECU, Low spoiler for that stealth look etc.....

I agree with the above, keep it and get Kelly a KA
Where have I seen those wheels before
You should keep it and get your wheels done in black as they look great in the photo

Hang on...... the reason you sold the Type R was to get a "normal" car wasn't it??
Deja-Vu I'm feeling!!!!!
In all honesty, buying a new place at the moment is very risky, and as suggested, getting a KA, you probably wouldn't even notice the difference in your pocket!!

We would love to move. We have a nice bit of equity, but these days what does that get you? Everywhere else is so much more expensive so there's no benefit.
I think we should hang it all and live up in the trees.

Good luck with it Ian, lovely car with low mileage and massive amounts of fun!!
Don't let Gummer see this, he would have ripped your hand off, waiting for his RA to be prepared for next weekend pick up.
ps PM on its way

bibo boy, i've been looking at a type ra and have found one i really like but haven't finalised the deal yet. was going to px my golf tdi for it. was wondering if you're interested in maybe sorting something out between us? the golf is brilliant on mpg but still has a good turn of speed and leaves most cars behind
