Question Where to get cam belt done.

I need to know the best & cheapest place to get my cam belt done for my Scooby.
I think it will help with the sale if I get it done.

It must be in Southend as the misses will be taking it and wont drive to far.

Paul,

I know a local 'mobile' mechanic (lives in Shoebury also), who does mine, I get the belt (Only use subaru genuine parts) and he will fit it for you, he works out sooooo much less than anyone/where else.

I can vouch for him, as he services mine now, + he is an MOT tester ....... But a strict one, he will not let something pass if it shouldn't

If you need his number, send me a PM

No he is not mobile for doing MOT's, it's just that he is an MOT tester every second Saturday (so he can keep his testers license).

I may have another testing station or 2 to add to my list of CAT friendly places now as well , all near me though.

Andy keeps VERY busy for the simple fact that he is good at what he does and comes to your house to do it.

Are you booked in then ?

Jumped to £225 with the belts. Can't fit me in until after the bank holiday.

I need it done asap. Does anyone know anywhere where I can get it done this week, if not I'll have to wait until after the bank holiday.

Just noticed a split in the belt so can't use the car until it's done.
Meant to have been done at 50,000 miles. B@ll@cks.

£225 ??

Why not get the belts yourself, try the Seat dealer on London Road Wetscliff (I believe an ESC member works there), Cam Belt should cost circa £100 for genuine Subaru, any other belts, get from Motor parts direct in Sutton Road for the best price.

The price you say, doesn't sound too bad when you consider the Subaru belt (which is what Andy would use) cost around (or just over) £100 .

Andy,

I have always found his work A1 and have been using him for around 15 years now.

Just be ready for a little cursing if there is anything seized and make sure you make him plenty of drinks .......... You will be fine.

I'm going to have a cambelt service before I go to Germany, and guess ho will be doing it .
