Yes thats right guys.
Today we had our annual Ford Dunton Vehicle Enthusiasts Day at work.
This is an event that happens every year, and all the petrolheads at work can bring in their pride and joy to show off. The cars/vehicles are judged by top ford motorsport directors and managers and today was extra special as none other than 2 times WRC world champion Marcus Gronholm joined in too.
I was in the motorsport category and was lucky enough to come runner up against some very serious machinery.
Here are some in my class...
Porsche 996 GT3 cup racecar
900bhp cossie powered probe drag car (7 sec!!)
2.3 duratec powered MK2 escort (4 years to build 250bhp)
VR6 turbo mid engine golf (400bhp)
200bhp Group 4 escort rally car
Fully restored Technokart race cart (1964)
Heres Marcus having a look around my car. He said he liked the finish on all the modifications and said i had built a very nice car. He even had a good look around the interior and dash.
Then i asked if he would mind autographing my car?
"No problem" he says... so heres the back of my carbon Recaro now with a new addition
Marcus just before going out to put on a display in the 08 gravel spec Ford focus WRC.
And him doing what he does best...
And some of my favorites of the show.
Also, credit where its due.
This day was in great debt to its cheif organiser... our very own Bibo Boy.
Its not often i praise people but he did a stunning job and i can wholeheartedly say that today was the best day ive ever seen at Ford.
Well done fella, you should be proud

Wow what a Fantastic collection of cars.
The 2.3 MkII - gorgeous, would sell body parts to own something like that!
Well done Frayz for 2nd in class, superbly prepared car - though not sure why it would be the motorsport section, as it's never been raced.

Some great pics!!!!
Cheers Frayz....
It took a lot of planning and I was burning the midnight oil for a few weeks, but it was all worth it... (despite the the couple of bouts of rain)
I still can't believe it came off... don't think that will ever happen again...
Started planning next years event already.
Cheers Frayz....

Was a pretty good day mate, well done After 4 1/2 years of Scoobying, it made a very nice change to see other marquees!, The Shelby mustang in the visitors car park was absolutely stunning!! So many nice cars there, and one of my ultimate favourite was the Yellow Mk2 RS2000 Custom, stunning condition!

He was like a kid at christmas when he come home! I met so and so! I got my car signed- look I even got a pic of him signing it!
He must have waxed it 7 times before the event and actually set an alarm at 4.45 to get to work an hour early to wash it but he only set it for the afternoon!
