I had fun in the snow on the way home this morning, just got in from work and the carpark is covered, so handbrake up and plenty of rev's, entertained me for a while

LOL. I shall be attempting the school run shortly - although I doubt I'll find much "fun" in that - driving a car with no third gear puts a dampner on alot

Enjoyable run at 6.15am this morning on the way to the tube..... nice and slippery on the back roads
Made me laugh when on the main road, came up to a Nissan Micra with the guy poodling along at 35mph with both hands gripping the steering wheel like it was going to slip into the hedge at any moment - it was a well gritted main road FFS!
I just went past him shaking my head.....
Tube station car park was really slippery - more fun!!
BTW - came back from seeing someone at Hatfield Peverell last night - came back to Harlow on the A414 and jeez, was that icy..... nice in the Scoob, but not nice for the "normal" cars.... I had fun though....

was fun this morning but not fun saturday night when i had to brake sharply and the road hadn't been gritted. main road too in wickford. was nearly bye bye fiesta. luckily there was a bus stop that i could go into and avoid the taxi in front that managed to stop. i normally hate abs but i wish i had it the other night. either that or some decent quality tyres.

After seeing Mark B4's accident last year I am a little more wary in icy conditions...

Nearly wrote the scudo off , Been traveling along un treated roads for the past 15 years collecting my partner in various vans , never ever had a problem on icy / snowy roads , but today **** me
Was going down a small hill , free wheeling in 1st gear only , was opposite lock to opposite lock to try & keep it on the road ( Country lane ) kept bashing into the soft muddy verges till i got to the bottom of the slope , luckily for me there was nothing coming in the opposite direction as i would never of been able to stop the van !!
Big van , Fat tyres , Not much weight on = recipe for an accident on untreated back rods
I'm sticking to the main roads tomorrow

Did it remind you of the "tiles" at Prodrive? What was it the instuctor said? "Make sure you are pointing the right way as we come back on the tarmac".
Hard packed snow plus a bit of melt & then a refreeze does it every time. I had to stop & pull away again right in the middle of that lot. 2nd gear & just enough revs so it doesn't stall got me underway again.

I had a " clenching " experience this morning, followed a car up a farm track that leads to small industrial units and a astravan follwed me. The way the car shot off made me assume that he had already come down the track and the farmer had salted it. How wrong was I...he pulled over to walk his dog, I got stuck on the slightest of hills and nearly rolled into the astravan God I love this weather!!

What did our mate say to me ..............................
" Tiny me ole mate .. My nan can turn lock to lock quicker than you & she's been dead 10 years "
How that never Barrell rolled as we exited onto the grippy tarmac i still do not know !!
