if that's what they call refurbishment
the ceiling has been painted though
and the entertainment was, well, entertaining

ceiling used to be red? It's a sort
of off white now. Couldn't make
my mind up about the wallpaper
though. It might have been changed
for a clean version of the old one...
Carpet is def the same though, and
still all dark wood..
Stripped floorboards and sawdust
would have made a change
Think the buffet came from ASDA's
own range

Dont think Brain the Boss was going for a total refit at the Lodge just a tidy up as he did 2 years ago.
A few of my friend were down there on Saturday and they all told me that the food was lovely and had plenty to eat, they were inpressed how nice it was seening that it was FREE. Even if most of it did come from Asda.
You cant expect the Ritz its only a little counrty pub after all

Hi,
not knocking what they have done, but the
website did say REFURBISHMENT, & with a
'reopening party' after nearly 3 weeks closed
I suppose I was expecting a little more than
a repainted ceiling.....

I know, but he aint exactly skint. you only have to look at the amount of people that go there in the summer. as long as it is open on thursday lol

As for the food we pretty much guessed what was going to be on offer and that's why we decided to eat first
Yes it was busy but lets face it if you live over the road or in the village you're not exactly spoilt for choice and the "Pub Singer" gets them in every time lol.

You've got to admire the Decorators. Anyone who can refurb a place over three weeks and keep such an original level of detail whilst getting paid gets my vote
