Red face This'll give you all a damn good laugh, at my expense.....

Found some old photo's earlier and this was amongst them. My second car, I was 18 years old, 2.0l pinto power. I thought it was the business.

Hanging my head in shame now.

And what's shameful about a Capri? I had a black Mk3, had great fun with it, though not very good as a family car, so ended up selling it and got a Sieera 2000E

Not the fact it was a Capri, just the state of it.

My Mk3 Capri 1.6LS, with Webber 36/38 DGAV twin choke carb (the ford VV carb is sh!te), K&N air filter, Ashley exhaust system, and I put a type 9 5 speed gearbox in:

Something to give Pezzza the horn:

Absolutely nothing to be ashamed of in having owned a Capri.

Basically the same running gear as the Escort, with better looks, plus the ability to drift at every curve in the road.

Owned 4 of them Mk1 facelift 2000GT, Mk 2 German import 2.3S (V6), M3 3000S, with 3.1 group 1 engine, 2.8i interior, brilliant car even if it was green, and a rather disappointing 2.8i.

What can I say? It was the 80's we were off to Donnington for the Monsters of Rock with Whitesnake headlining. The bonnet was only in primer so got the, then, girlfriend to paint this snake on it....

Everyone at the festival loved it, honest.

And it got worse, shortly after this I painted Silkolene stripes up the sides aswell.

That my dear is a Mondeo BTCC Racing spoiler, seemed a good idea when I bought it, sprayed it Ford pepper red and when I went to fit it, I changed my mind, thought it looked cack and best kept on the touring cars

That's where you and I differ Paul. You realised at, the time, that it looked cack.

Your Capri looked good.

Is it optical or were you running about 10 degrees negative camber on the rear?

lol, the photo is a little curved, the car was straight

The guy who bought it went over the whole car and the only thing he could see wrong was the rear diff cover was a little rusty!!

I loved that car, and regretted selling it, spent months cleaning, scavenging in breakers yards and classic car shows to restore it. I honestly washed the car twice a week during the summer to pose This was when I first got into polishing cars. Tried Mer once, and thought it was crap so gave it away and used autoglym polish
