Default Driving School for speeders in Essex

Just seen on the London news that speeders are given the possibility of a one-off chance to take a course instead of a 3 point and £60 fine, but the course will cost £60.

Maybe the course would give a chance to tell those idiots running it, that the stopping distances they say are completely out of touch with the actual distances you can stop a car now, I would even lend myself to them to prove the point (but without being caught speeding ).

Could also raise a point that travelling on the A127 now is more dangerous than it was when it was 70mph, the reason I say this ...... People now travel nearer than the '2 second rule' than they used to when it was 70, much more dangerous in my mind .......... unfortunately, I expect a fatality at some point.

Agree with the stopping distances, could even get the van to stop well under them, where as the rover. how that passes the MOT i dont know, brakes are awful.

Spot on on both counts Nate. I've noticed more tailgating than ever since the new cameras came into force. Well at least the Pikeys will only get hit at 50 instead of 70

What's so frustrating is that when the road is clear and your'e still stuck at 49.9999999999999999
