Default Well its all fitted.....

Well finished fitting the new exhaust and induction kit and all i can say is wow!!!!

Its like a different car!

Ok it took me and my boyfriend a lot longer than i thought it would take to fit but i now have a full hayward and scot de-cat system and Vortex back box. And a HKS induction kit!

The car now sounds the nuts and is so much quicker and responsive! Wish i had done it before now!

Will get some pics up later

Before you get too carried away you will need to get it mapped, to ensure engine safety and also to realise the best out of the mods you have done.

Just fitted a Vortex myself and they sound

I should hopefully be getting it to TDI in Thurrock to get it mapped soon as they can fit it in!

Make sure you have deep pockets or a big purse if you go there.
I don't know what car it is, but if its a Newage, then you'll probably be better off at Mocom. Its well recommended in the ESC.

It's probably quicker and leaner ? Be careful as the maf on your car costs £300 !

yup, personally would keep it off boost till it's mapped. it'll be shifting more air than it's currently mapped for. so you're risking det in your engine due to running lean which can lead to engine failure.

Who does the mapping at Xtreme now, is it still Pat H?

Without wishing to start the old who's best debate. Pat mapped my car several times and it's still running well some 5 years on, plus he mapped the class winning TA car so can't be bad.

JGM - nice guy, and he finally sorted the issues with ESB30's TA car.

suspect JGM may be slightly less expensive?

Pat H mapped my old scoob with the 2 litre engine, what a difference, better fuel economy - before hand, it used 2 tanks of fuel to get to Santa Pod and 1 1/4 tank after!! and loads of useable power

Without sounding too negative this is always going to be the reaction from the bum dyno with a large boost spike as the ECU looses control of the turbo. I have replied to your email enquiry with a more detailed response but to sum up you have two issues.....
  1. Induction kit - With a MAF based ECU the change to the housing will alter the applied fueling, and ignition timing, and inlet temperatures will be significantly higher than with the OEM airbox. Expect to see stationary temperatures well into their 50s and temperatures on the move at least 10 degrees above ambient.
  2. Decat downpipe - The removal of the wastegate restriction causes the ECU to loose control of the turbo resulting in boost spikes in excess of 1.6bar.

My best advice is to use Tesco99/Shell V-Power and drive off boost until these issues are addressed
