Default Ordered myself a pressie today

So after my rear suspension knocking for ages, i decided to order myself a nice set of coilovers.

Im now thinking should i go the whole hog and get myself the ARB/droplink accessories

For the majority of the time i dont drive to vigarously round corners so im thinking the coilovers will be fine for my needs as is, but ive read so many threads about how good the ARB's etc are and how much they transform the car that im very tempted.

On the minus side though if i tot up the costs plus an estimate of fitting costs it works out to be £400+, which on top of what ive just spent is maybe a little too much for me at the mo.

So choices are

1 - Fit coilovers have geometry done and be happy?
2 - as per 1 and then slowly build up accessories as i go along?
3 - get it all done now, worry about cost later?

What to do?????

I have the Apex BC coilovers and 22mm whiteline ARB's front and rear, noltec droplinks and a geo set up.

Completly transformed the car it now feels so planted.

I saw you ordered those C/Overs, they look good

You won't save any money doing it all at once so do it in stages and appreciate the differences. Only thing I would recommend is doing the anti lift kit at the same time as the C/O as that will knock out any alignment you've paid for having the C/O done. Arbs and drop links aren't hard to do yourself and won't affect the alignment, shop around as prices on these vary. Cusco Kid seems to do good deals on these although I am ordering a batch of bits soon so with whoever I choose you may want to jump in.

Did you go to Xtremes ? the alignment bays there look really professional, and I had an interesting pm conversation about spring fitting pricing which was pretty good too.

I acquired a rear ARB and front droplinks from Simon57 and bought the front ARB and rear droplinks from zak,

Like stu said well worth shopping round for the whiteline stuff, I think Demontweeks give discount to SIDC/scoobynet members as well.

Was at Xtreme today for alignment and mudflap fitting as i just got some new tyres last week. Knowlesy commented on my N/S/R shock being knackered which i knew already, and he suggested it was a bit of a waste having the alignment done now if i was going to change shocks. He recommended TEINS but to be honest they're a little out of my price range at the mo as im saving for my wedding in November

But looking at the BC coilover plus a few hundred to fit it looked a good deal

I am well pleased with the BC coilovers, for the money they seem a good bit of kit. Had them on for a couple of months now with no problems

BC coilovers for the money and quality look crackin tbh. Obviously you could spend more but given the reviews from everyday scooby owners why not give these a bash. I wouldn't bother with the whiteline gear yet if you're saving for the wedding. You could easily blow £500+ on the right whiteline set up. It does make a hell of a difference but so does new C/O and an alignment session. Look out for a cheap 22mm bar to start if you want to experiment.

Anti Lift kit adds castor, I don't know if the £115+ fitting cost is worth it if you already have castor adjustment on the BC Top Mounts ?

Personally I would not bother with the coilovers, some good uprated std shocks, Eibach springs and all the Whiteline kit will be more than enough, and still be pleasant to drive.

Single most noticable improvement will be via the rear ARB, and Geometry. After that the enhancements are much smaller.

alignment is well worth getting done. it transformed the ra when Zak set it up for track use. Nice aggressive camber is the way to go!
